The moment Mal and Joey knelt together at the altar, Mal was instantly in tears.
It was immediate.
You could see just how much that moment meant to her.
After all the anticipation leading up to their wedding day, they were finally there—kneeling beside one another, surrounded by the people they loved most and ready to make sacred promises and begin their life together.
It was a moment we couldn't capture with a camera.
Temple sealings are sacred, and photography isn't permitted inside the temple. But Corbyn and I were honored to be there to witness Mal and Joey's sealing and experience such a meaningful part of their wedding day alongside them.
And perhaps that's what made the moment even more special.
Some moments aren't meant to be captured by a camera.
They're meant to be lived.
And I hope that by telling the stories behind the photographs, Mal and Joey will always have something that helps them remember not only what their wedding day looked like—but what it felt like.
A Morning at the Meridian Idaho Temple
Before stepping inside for their sealing, we spent the morning with Mal and Joey at the Meridian Idaho Temple, capturing their bridal portraits around the temple grounds.
There was a quiet excitement to the morning. After all the anticipation, planning, and waiting, July 25 had finally arrived.
The two of them laughed together, shared quiet glances, and soaked in those final moments before becoming husband and wife.
With the Meridian Idaho Temple as their backdrop, their portraits captured the beginning of a day that held so much meaning for both of them.
A Sacred Beginning
Although there are no photographs from their sealing, it was undoubtedly the heart of Mal and Joey's wedding day.
We watched as they entered the temple, knowing that the moments ahead were ones they would carry with them for the rest of their lives.
Then came that moment at the altar.
Mal's tears.
The emotion that filled the room.
The realization that they were finally here.
There are some memories that live beyond photographs. Memories that don't need an image to prove how meaningful they were because everyone who experienced them remembers exactly how they felt.
For Corbyn and me, witnessing Mal and Joey's sealing was one of those moments.
A Celebration Surrounded by Love
After the sacred quiet of the temple, the rest of the day became a celebration.
Mal and Joey were surrounded by family and friends who came together to celebrate their marriage. There were hugs, laughter, happy tears, and the kind of joy that fills a room when everyone there is genuinely excited for two people they love.
And among all of those moments was one that has stayed with me.
Watching Mal dance with her dad.
There was something so precious about the two of them together on the dance floor.
You could feel how much he loved his daughter.
It was in the way he looked at her. The way he held her close. The emotion of the moment as he danced with his little girl on the day she had just begun her own marriage.
It was one of those moments that made me pause behind the camera.
A wedding day is about two people choosing one another, but it is also about all the love that brought them there.
The parents who raised them.
The family who supported them.
The friends who celebrated beside them.
And the people who have loved them through every chapter leading up to this one.
The Newlyweds
Throughout the day, Mal and Joey shared so many little moments together.
The laughter.
The smiles.
The quiet glances when they thought no one was watching.
The excitement of knowing they were finally husband and wife.
Those are the moments we love capturing as Idaho wedding photographers and videographers. Not simply the perfectly posed photographs, but the genuine moments in between—the ones that tell the story of how a wedding day actually felt.
Because years from now, I hope they look back at these photographs and video and remember more than what they wore or how everything looked.
I hope they remember the excitement of that morning at the Meridian Idaho Temple.
The emotion of their sealing.
The people who surrounded them.
The joy of celebrating together.
And the love that filled every part of their day.
A Day They Will Always Remember
Mal and Joey's wedding day was filled with moments that deserved to be remembered.
Some were captured in photos and videos
Others, like the moment Mal immediately began to cry as they knelt together at the altar, will live only in the memories of those who were there.
But every one of them is part of their story.
From their quiet morning of bridal portraits at the Meridian Idaho Temple to the sacred moments shared during their sealing and the celebration that followed, July 25 was a day filled with love.
Mal and Joey, thank you for allowing Corbyn and me to document the beautiful moments surrounding your wedding day and for letting us witness such a meaningful beginning to your marriage.
May you always remember not only what your wedding day looked like, but how it felt to be surrounded by so much love as you began forever together.
We love you!
Xx Madi and Corbyn Wind.
