Music plays. Everyone’s eyes facing the giant chapel doors. There she is, the bride, all dressed in white. Tears streamed down her face. It was hard to believe this day had finally come. A day that most girls dream about their whole lives. The moments that mean the most, and doing it surrounded by people you love , it’s common to shed a tear or two. As Zoie walked down the small intimate church aisle, towards the groom, her soon to be husband, emotions flooded her view. Seeing her best friend, her fiancé, waiting for her at the end, the love she had for him overwhelmed her. It was time.
From the first looks, to sharing special heart-felt emotions with loved ones, to partying with friends and family, to sharing one last dance, Zoie and Ryland’s wedding although might be different for some, was very intimate and real in every single moment.
There were lots of wholesome tears the day of their wedding. The first moments of becoming husband and wife were super special, but I knew that the moments after (especially at the Portland Oregon Temple) would be ones that Zoie will never forget.
I personally know what it's like to get sealed in a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so I knew that that moment was going to be special, especially for Zoie. She was only a convert of about 2 years. While she couldn’t have her mom in there with her, her Mother in Law was right by her side the whole time. When Zoie & Ryland walked out, Zoie didn’t hide her emotion. You could tell something special had occurred, but what was even more special was seeing the people she loved waiting, even the ones who couldn’t go in with her. They were happy that she was happy. They showed their support for one of the most sacred moments that can exist on the earth.
Family is so important. The day itself was beautiful; however, it was the people that surrounded Zoie and Ryland that made it special. That’s what wedding do. It unites families and friends, in the same purpose. Love. We all need love, and Zoie and Ryland’s wedding showcased that.
Zoie and Ryland, I loved every aspect of this wedding. Seeing the love that not only you both had for each other but the love and support of your friends and family will be engraved forever. Even though we met for the first time the morning of your wedding, by the end of the second night, I was honestly sad to say goodbye. From strangers to new friends, I am so thankful for every moment. I wish you two the very best as you two learn this new kind of love that is covenantally shared. Whatever life throws at you, I hope you can look back and remember the love that was felt by many on this special day.
