Sometimes the most beautiful days come together in the most unexpected ways.

Our first Kansas wedding was one of those moments. What came together on short notice turned into such a beautiful celebration, and we couldn't have been more grateful to be a part of it. Traveling to the charming town of Belle Plaine, Kansas, we had the joy of documenting Tarik and Perry as they began their next chapter together at the beautiful Bartlett Arboretum.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the gardens, their wedding felt intimate, meaningful, and full of the little moments that make a day unforgettable. It was such a lovely reminder that a wedding doesn't have to be extravagant or perfectly planned to be incredibly special. Sometimes, it's the people, the love, and the moments shared that make it everything you could have hoped for.

A Moment Just for Two

Before the ceremony, Tarik and Perry shared an intimate first look, giving themselves a little time together before the rest of the day unfolded.

There is something so special about these quiet moments. With so much happening around a wedding day, a first look creates a chance to slow down, take a breath, and really be present with the person you're about to marry.

Away from the eyes of everyone else, they got to share a moment that belonged entirely to them. These are the kinds of moments I love preserving most. Not because they are perfectly posed or planned, but because they are genuine. The anticipation, the excitement, and simply getting to see each other before saying, "I do."

Surrounded by the People Who Matter Most

As beautiful as the setting was, what made this celebration so meaningful was the opportunity to witness two people beginning their marriage surrounded by the people closest to them.

Their ceremony was a beautiful reminder of what a wedding is really about. It's about choosing one another, celebrating that commitment, and sharing one of life's biggest moments with the people who have been part of your story along the way.

Before and after the ceremony, we spent time capturing family portraits, preserving memories with the people who will continue to be part of their journey together. While these photographs may seem like simple family pictures today, I hope they become some of the most treasured images as the years go by.

Our First Kansas Wedding

This celebration will always hold a special place in our hearts as our first wedding here in Kansas.

Moving to Wichita has brought a whole new chapter of adventures, and getting to photograph Tarik and Perry's wedding was such a beautiful way to begin this season. We are excited to meet more couples throughout Wichita, Belle Plaine, and the surrounding Kansas communities, and to continue documenting the stories that make each wedding unique.

Whether you're planning an intimate ceremony surrounded by your closest family and friends or a larger celebration filled with all the details you've been dreaming of, we believe your memories deserve to be preserved in a way that feels true to you.

We're so grateful this was one of the first love stories we got to document in our new home state, and we can't wait to see what Kansas has in store.

A Little Note to Tarik & Perry

Tarik and Perry, thank you for welcoming us into such a special chapter of your lives! Sometimes the most unexpected opportunities turn into the sweetest memories, and getting to document your wedding was certainly one of them.

Even though your day came together on short notice, it was filled with so much beauty and meaning. We hope that when you look back through these photographs, you're reminded of not only how everything looked, but how it felt to share such a special moment with the people you love most.

May your life together be filled with endless laughter, little adventures, and countless moments that remind you why you chose each other. We are so grateful our paths crossed and wish you both a lifetime of happiness.

With love,

Madi & Corbyn
